Election Tie in Ellinger

When all the votes we counted Saturday, there appears to be a tie for one of Ellinger city commissioner positions.

Three people were running for two positions.

Joseph Lamer got 32 votes to grab one of the spots. But Kenneth Stojanik and Curtis Zwahr each got 27 votes leaving them tied for the other commisioner spot.

We’ll keep you posted on how that tie might be broken.

Matt Mikulenka was running unopposed for Mayor of Ellinger and garnered all 48 votes.

Also in Ellinger, 44 people voted for Proposition 1 compared to just nine against.

That proposition called for a sales tax adopted within the City at a rate of 1%. The tax will be used for the City of Ellinger General Fund.
