Drunk Man Arrested at Fair After Trying to Get Backstage

La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath said the Fayette County Fair passed with just one arrest at the Fairgrounds.

Gilbreath said the arrest came Saturday night around 10 p.m. He said an intoxicated 44-year-old man from Fayetteville tried to get backstage at the Doug Stone concert. Security turned him away and the man went to the German Czech Mart.

“He was staggering around and brought attention to himself,” Gilbreath said.

La Grange Police arrested him in the German Czech Mart for misdemeanor public intoxication.

“Overall, the Fair was pretty uneventful for us, which is good,” Gilbreath said.
