Drunk Driving Leads to Crash, Arrest

La Grange Police arrested a local man on suspicion of driving while intoxicated following a wreck on Horton Street June 25.

La Grange Police arrested a local man for drunk driving following a crash on Friday, June 25.

According to a crash report filed by La Grange Officer John Wostarek, the incident occured around 12:15 a.m. that day. The report said 21-year-old Baldomar Garcia-Villasana of La Grange was driving a tan 2007 Chevy Silverado. The pickup was heading north on Horton Street. Garcia-Villasana attempted a left turn on to East Camp Street, but the pickup struck a wooden pole at the intersection.

The report said Garcia-Villasana suffered non-incapacitating injuries.

La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath said Wostarek observed signs that the driver was intoxicated. Wostarek arrested the driver following a field sobriety test. The report said the driver submitted to a blood alcohol test. Wostarek arrested Garcia-Villasana on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

Wostarek transported Garcia-Villasana to St. Mark’s Hosptial in La Grange for treatment and a blood test.
