Deputies Assist In Pursuit Of Subject On I-10 Near Engle Exit

Sheriff Keith Korenek reports on Wednesday afternoon around 5:00 p.m. Deputies assisted DPS Trooper Mason Hartnett who was in pursuit of a passenger car on 1-10 eastbound from the 667 mile marker near the Engle exit.

The vehicle was reported as a reckless driver from Gonzales County. The pursuit entailed and at the 674 mile marker eastbound near Schulenburg the vehicle came to stop. Deputies Terry Guentert, T.J. McCleney, James Ulbig, and Schulenburg Police Officer Juan Castilleja assisted DPS Trooper Hartnett with taking the single occupant into custody.

Arrested was 28-yr-old Luis Argenis Velasco Gallo of Houston who was transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center and charged with evading arrest with a vehicle, resisting arrest, and failure to identify to a peace officer.
