Deputies Arrest Subject for Possession of Firearm by Felon

Sheriff Keith Korenek reports on Friday night around 8:19 p.m. Deputy Jared Michalec conducted a traffic stop on a 1993 Jeep Cherokee on State Hwy. 237 near FM 1291 for a traffic violation.

After contact was made with the driver, who displayed nervous behavior, consent to search the vehicle was given. Deputy Rick Martell arrived and assisted on the scene. A .22 caliber revolver was located in the vehicle and the driver had on his person a small container of a white crystal rock substance which he admitted to be methamphetamine.

Michael Raymond Shrader of Fayetteville was arrested and transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center and charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a Firearm by a Felon.
