Dan Mueller Running for County Judge
Judge Dan Mueller, Justice of the Peace, Precinct 4, announces that he is seeking the office of Fayette County Judge. Mueller is a 4th generation resident of the County. He attended St. Rose School and Bishop Forest High School in Schulenburg, and the University of Texas in San Antonio. He has lived in Fayette County all his life.
Dan Beck, who served as County Judge and District Judge, once said of his friend Dan Mueller: “Dan Mueller is the perfect example of a public servant. He is a man who believes that public service is a noble calling. He is an honest man of unquestionable integrity. He knows how to work and to work smart. Dan exemplifies the traits that we, in this County, hold dear. As citizens of Fayette County, we prefer the independence of ‘Doing for Ourselves’ while quietly offering a hand to those in need. Dan is liked and respected throughout Fayette County. He attained his respect from people the old-fashioned way, he earned it.”
Mueller has served Fayette County as Justice of the Peace for the past 27 years, presiding over countless criminal and civil cases. He has amassed over 600 hours of Justice Court Criminal and Civil Training.
For a lot of people Mueller is probably best known for his announcing over KVLG/KBUK radio stations. He delivers the morning news, Hosts ‘The Old Music Program’ on Saturdays and ‘Hymns of Hope’, with his wife Vi, on Sunday mornings. Mueller has been affiliated with KVLG/KBUK for the past 44 years and is currently part owner of the stations.
In 1983, County Judge Dan Beck chose Mueller to start Fayette County Crimestoppers. Original members of Crimestoppers included Mueller, Otto Steinhauser, John Cufr, Ray Elliott and Jack Klessel. Crimestoppers is still in operation and Mueller serves as the current President.
Mueller says “I look forward to the campaign. I believe I represent the common person. Here in Fayette County, we are fiscal conservatives. We expect our hard-earned tax dollars to be spent wisely. Low taxes, common sense County Government. I will never forget I work for you.”
