Couple’s Shower Held for Horndt, Neumann
Carissa and Brandon Karisch hosted a couple’s bridal shower for Madisyn Horndt and Cole Neumann on Saturday, Sept. 25 at their new residence off of Citzler Road. The new home was decorated with fall colors and décor. Guests gathered under the patio for refreshments and fellowship. A taco bar along with a variety of food trays was served. The shower cake, an Italian Crème, was served with coffee and other sweet treats. The couple received many useful gifts and look forward to their wedding day. Madisyn is a CAN at Columbus Community Hospital and will begin nursing school to become an RN in January. Cole is a member of the Columbus Police Department. Madisyn and Cole will be married on Saturday, Oct. 9 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Columbus, with the reception following at the Ellinger Chamber of Commerce Hall.
Roast Beef and Sausage Dinner
St. John Lutheran Church of Ellinger, located at the corner of W. Fayette St. and Grover St., will be sponsoring its annual Roast Beef and Sausage Dinner on Sunday, Oct. 10. Peter’s BBQ will be catering the meal. Sides and desserts will also be served. Plates for the to go only/drive thru meal will be $12 per plate. There will be a limited number of tickets at the drive through, so get your advanced tickets.
Breakfast Church
St. John Lutheran Church of Ellinger and Rutersville will have breakfast church on Sunday, Oct. 3. Services are at 8 a.m. in Ellinger and 10 a.m. in Rutersville. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Fayetteville Brethren Church
Fayetteville Brethren Church has services the second and fourth Saturdays of each month at 10 a.m. Other services are at Industry Brethren on the second, third and fourth Saturdays at 5 p.m., Wesley Brethren on Sundays at 9 a.m. and Nelsonville Brethren on Sundays at 10:15 a.m.
Ellinger VFD
The Ellinger VFD will hold its next regular meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 6 at 7:30 p.m. and it will drill on Wednesday, Oct. 20.
Ellinger Sewer and Water
The Ellinger Sewer and Water Supply Corporation will hold its regular monthly meeting on Monday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. at the Ellinger Fire Station.
Ellinger C of C
The Ellinger Chamber of Commerce will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. at the C of C Dining Hall. They will be finalizing plans for the Chicken Noodle Soup and Bake Sale scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 31.
Ellinger City Commissioners
The Ellinger City Commissioners will meet on Thursday, Oct. 28 at 7 p.m.
