Couple ID’d in Weekend Fire Fatality

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office identified the couple who died in a house fire near Muldoon last Friday. Muldoon Volunteer Fire Department got a call around 5 p.m. last Friday, Nov. 14, reporting smoke along Davis Rd., located about between Muldoon and West Point. They responded to the area and discovered a house on fire on property along Davis Rd.

Firefighters discovered two people had perished in the fire. The Sheriff’s Office identified them as Linda Polk, age 74, and Hereld Polk, age 78.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the fire. So far, they have not released any findings.
