County’s Ag Day Support Lauded

Linda Anders, one of the volunteers at Fayette County Farm Bureau’s Ag Day, spoke at the Nov. 23 Commissioners Court meeting to thank county leaders for supporting the event. Every year, Anders and many other volunteers hold the event at the Fayette County Fairgrounds to teach fourth graders about agriculture. Her specialty is sheep and goats.

“It really means a lot that our County leaders are behind this program,” Anders said. “You’d be amazed at how many fourth graders don’t know where milk comes from. It’s sad, but that’s what this program does.”

More than 300 fourth graders from public and private schools attended the event on Oct. 14.
