Company Donates $6,000 in Tools to LHS Shop Classes

Texas Critical Systems, a Bastrop-based company that specializes in plumbing and mechanical systems, in partnership with Dewalt Tools donated $6,000-worth of tools to the La Grange High School Ag and Welding Shop last Wednesday, Sept. 2.

“Supporting the communities we live and work in is a core value at TCS Mechanical,” TCS said in a press release. “Through collaborations with high school CTE initiatives, involvement in youth programs, and ongoing support for 4-H and FFA participants, we’re proud to put that value into action and invest in the next generation.”

This donation was a joint effort between TCS Mechanical and Dewalt Tool to provide over $6,000 dollars of tools to La Grange High School’s Ag & Welding Shop.

TCS Mechanical partners with Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area, school districts, educators, and apprenticeship programs to introduce students to construction careers before graduation and provide meaningful, hands-on workforce experience.

This summer, TCS hosted 17 high school interns through an eight-week rotational program working in each of our departments: Welding, Plumbing, HVAC, Safety, BIM,Project Management, and Cleanroom. Four of those students came from La Grange ISD: Braxton Landis, Kalub Kalina, Jaxon Ford and Grayson Hart.

Working alongside industry professionals, the interns gained practical experience and explored apprenticeship opportunities and career pathways they could pursue after graduation.
