City of LG Needs Rec. Department Workers
The La Grange Recreation Department needs part-time employees this summer to work as lifeguards and camp counselors for summer youth programs.
City Recreation Director Janet Rangel said the positions offer a great opportunity for teenagers, college students and school district employees with extra time this summer. The positions are open to anyone ages 16 and up.
Those selected for the summer camp counselor positions will work with local children in kindergarten through the sixth grade.
“Our summer counselors go on field trips, they’ll do arts and crafts and play games with the kids,” Rangel said. “It’s a lot of fun.
“We’re still looking for lifeguards,” she added. “A lot of our lifeguards are teenagers in summer sports, and they need time off. Other have second jobs. We always need more lifeguards because scheduling is a challenge.”
Rangel said employment for some summer workers could extend into the fall for the City’s afterschool program.
