Christmas in Muldoon Celebrated
The first Saturday in Muldoon was a small community abuzz with Christmas activity. The Muldoon Museum saw lots of traffic coming through with people stopping in to see what was going on, check out the displays, purchase some Christmas goodies. Donations of cookies, eggs, brownies, pies and other goodies were sold to help defray costs of upkeep of this wonderful little treasure. The museum stayed busy all the way to 6 p.m.
Santa Claus and his elves even made an appearance at the Stray Gathering Cowboy Church just behind the park and took lots of pictures and listen to Christmas wish lists of all the good little boys and girls.
Boehnke Christmas
The Boehnke family gathered at Devon Boehnke’s home to celebrate the Christmas holiday. The weather was perfect for the celebration. Almost the entire family gathered with only a few missing. There were thirty-eight members who came out to enjoy a big feast and loads of visiting.
The family enjoyed playing the “sock game”, which was hilarious according to Dana Kulak. Then the gang, adults and kids, all had fun going on a hayride. Laughter and fun were the agenda for the day.
Grandsons Compete
Kathy and Frank Chlumsky’s grandsons, Connor and Hunter Dong, traveled to El Paso to participate in the Edge of Texas Nationals. Connor got Gold in both the D4 Open and Novice. Hunter also got double gold in the D3 Open and Novice. Both boys are really enjoying the wrestling, and grandma and grandpa are following them closely and are really proud of how well the boys are doing.
Branson Travels
Ron and Pam Knotts recently spent a few days in Branson attending a Gospel Music Fest. Several of their favorite groups were there including Greater Vision and Mark Trammell Quartet. The festival featured four concerts over the course of three days. Ron and Pam know many of the performers having attended many of these programs over the last few years.
While in Branson They also took the opportunity to attend several other shows featuring talented family musicians. The Petersens feature three sisters and one brother who play a variety of instruments backed by their mother on the upright bass. Each sibling takes turns telling a piece of their family history. It was a really enjoyable afternoon.
Another show Ron and Pam enjoyed featured the Dutton family. Playing in their own theater, there are three generations who not only sing and dance but cover every job from selling popcorn to running the lights. This show will definitely be on the list for future trips.
Out and About
Dana and Darrell Kulak enjoyed having their daughter Cynthia Kulak in from the Fort Worth area. Also coming in were Dana and Darrell’s son, daughter in law and grandson, Elton, Miko and Henry Kulak also of the Fort Worth area.
James and I enjoyed having our grandson Ira Ivy come to visit on Saturday. Ira helped prepare the pies that were donated to the museum and cooking other stuff while here.
Church News
Christmas is fast approaching and SG2C invites everyone in the community to come and worship Christ’s birth with them on Christmas Eve at 6:30 p.m. They will be having a special Christmas service and hope everyone will come out and celebrate with them. It is a beautiful way to honor the true reason for the season.
Plans are forming now at SG2C for some fun in the upcoming months. The arena team has begun plans for a “Stick Horse Rodeo!” It will be packed with fun games for the kids and maybe even the adults. This is sounding like a blast for anyone in the area looking for something to do. No excuse. Start your search for the perfect stick horse to bring to this really fun event. More details will be coming.
Road Hazards
The hogs and deer have been very active lately. Be very alert when driving at night. Hogs cross the road with no fear of oncoming traffic and are in no hurry to get out of the way. Black hogs are very hard to see at night and if you are not driving aware it can become a very dangerous condition quick.
Deer have not only been moving at night, but also during the day. This can make driving in the country dangerous as they dart across in front of oncoming traffic. And the buzzards are taking advantage of the road kills and dinning close to the roads and flying up as traffic passes by, so use caution while driving in the area.
