Chicken Noodle Soup Lunch Sunday In Ellinger
The Ellinger Chamber of Commerce will be sponsoring a homemade chicken noodle soup lunch and bake sale on Sunday, Jan. 30. This will be a drive – thru event held at the Ellinger Community Center. Serving will get underway at 10:30 a.m. You are asked to bring your own containers for the soup. The cost will be $8 a quart or $30 a gallon. Desserts and chicken salad sandwiches will also be available.
Candidates Forum
On Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022, there will be a Fayette County Candidates Forum at the Ellinger Community Center from 5 p.m. until about 9 p.m. All candidates running for Fayette County Judge and Justice of the Peace precinct 2 will be there to speak and answer questions. All are welcome to attend. For more information please contact Tom Kubena. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m.
Ellinger VFD
The Ellinger Volunteer Fire Department will hold its regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 2 at 7 p.m. at the Ellinger Fire Station. They will drill on Wednesday, Feb. 16.
Ellinger Sewer and Water
The Ellinger Sewer and Water Supply Corporation will hold its next regular monthly meeting on Monday, Feb. 14 at 7 p.m. at the Ellinger Fire Station. Members of the Corporation should be getting information about the election of directors and the annual meeting in the mail very soon.
Receives Award
Dr. Brandi Bourg Karisch, Associate Professor at Mississippi State University, was recently awarded the ASAS Award—American Society of Animal Science Award-2022 Southern Section Winner for her contributions to the animal science industry. Brandi studied Beef Cattle Nutrition at Texas A&M, Animal/Dairy/Poultry Science at LSU, and studied Animal Science-Beef Cattle/Ruminant Nutrition at Texas A&M. Brandi is married to Matt Karisch, son of Laurie and Curtis Karisch of Rutersville, Matt and Brandi are the owners and managers of MLB Cattle, and have two young sons who have begun to show cattle.
Fayetteville Brethren Church
Fayetteville Brethren Church has services the second, third, and fourth Saturdays of each month at 10 a.m. Other services are at Industry Brethren on the second, third and fourth Saturdays at 5 p.m., Wesley Brethren on Sundays at 9 a.m. and Nelsonville Brethren on Sundays at 10:15 a.m. Rev. Mike Groseclose leads all the services. The Nelsonville service is live streamed on Nelsonville Brethren’s Facebook page.
