Cherrys Welcome New Grandbaby

Cherrys Welcome New Grandbaby

Christina and Wallace Cherry welcomed a new granddaughter. On March 5 Gracelynn Haze Danials made her arrival. She tipped the scales at six pounds ten ounces and measured nineteen and three quarter inches long. Her parents are Brittany Bailey and Trey Danials of Smithville. Everyone is doing great.

Out And About

Ted and Nada Burns are enjoying having their son and daughter-in-law Ryan and Megan Burns along with their kids for the week. The younger Burns are enjoying spring break in the country.

Devon Boehnke enjoyed a visit from his son Jeremy Wells over the weekend. Jeremy came in from Pflugerville to help out with some country chores.

Weather

The weather has been very mild with lots of wind. Mornings have been cool with temperatures in the fifties, then warming up in the afternoons to make a pleasant day. This seems to be exactly what the bluebonnets like. If we get a little rain it is looking like it will be a great wild flower season.

The weather has also made it pleasant for those who are putting in gardens. Quite a number have been starting to get their vegetable gardens prepared to plant.

This weather has also been welcomed by the wild hog population. Local hog hunter Chris Joplin has been catching a few more in his traps lately since the weather has become more “spring like.”

Railroad Work

The railroad work is getting finished up. The railroad ties are being collected and piled up. There is some residual workers in the area, so be aware when you are traveling down FM154.

Little Library

The Little Lending Library is still fairly active with books coming and going. If you went by and did not see a title you liked be sure and check back often. Titles come and go. Borrow a book or leave a book. This has been a great asset to the community, especially over the last year with everyone self isolating.

The Little Lending Library is located in front of the fire station across the railroad tracks from the Muldoon Mercantile. It is open all the time 24/7, so stop by and check it out.

Neighborhood Watch

Be sure and check in on your neighbors. Spring allergies and sinus problems has been making the rounds. You may be able to pick up groceries or supplies for those not feeling well. Many in the area have been getting vaccinated for COVID and a few have had some reaction. Just reaching out and offering a little help can go a long way to help them make a speedy recovery.

Also be aware of strange vehicles in the area. If we all watch out for one another we can keep Muldoon safe. Call that neighbor if you see something out of place or a strange vehicle. Just a quick call can help make sure all is as it should be or if some kind of action needs to be taken.
