Chamber Chicken Noodle Soup Fundraiser a Success in Ellinger
The Ellinger Chamber of Commerce sponsored a homemade chicken noodle soup lunch on Sunday, Jan. 30 at the Ellinger Community Center. In addition to the many kettles of delicious soup there were homemade chicken salad sandwiches and desserts available. The Chamber prepared 250 gallons of soup and they sold out.
Forum
The Fayette County Candidates Forum was held on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022, at the Ellinger Community Center. Due to illness I was unable to attend in person, but I was able to watch a video of the event on Facebook filmed by Andy Behlen of the Fayette County Record. It can also be found on YouTube. I found it very informative and it gave me the opportunity to get to know the people running for Justice of the Peace/Precinct 2 and Fayette County Judge. I recommend all registered voters watch the video or make one of the scheduled forums still to come. Elections are important and have consequences. Exercise your right to vote and have a voice in our elections. Thank you to Tom Kubena for getting the event scheduled in Ellinger and taking part as timekeeper.
Fayetteville Brethren Church
Fayetteville Brethren Church has services the second, third, and fourth Saturdays of each month at 10 a.m. Other services are at Industry Brethren on the second, third and fourth Saturdays at 5 p.m., Wesley Brethren on Sundays at 9 a.m. and Nelsonville Brethren on Sundays at 10:15 a.m. Rev. Mike Groseclose leads all the services. The Nelsonville service is live streamed on Nelsonville Brethren’s Facebook page.
Ellinger C of C
The Ellinger Chamber of Commerce will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 8 at the Ellinger Community Center at 7 p.m.
Ellinger City Council
The Ellinger City Council meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 24.
Ellinger Sewer and Water
The Ellinger Sewer and Water Supply Corporation will hold its next regular monthly meeting on Monday, Feb. 14 at 7 p.m. at the Ellinger Fire Station. All members are welcome to attend.
New Residents
Please welcome new Ellinger residents Jennifer and Hayleigh Pizzitola.
They are moving to the Ellinger Community from La Grange where Jenn is a third grade teacher at La Grange Elementary. Hayleigh is a student at La Grange and a member of Pure Country 4-H.
