Celebrate 150 Years of Round Top History This Mother’s Day Weekend
The Round Top Sesquicentennial Committee is excited to invite everyone to join in on the town’s 150th Anniversary Celebration, scheduled to be held on the square this May 8th. The event is a perfect opportunity to create memories this Mother’s Day Weekend in the town of Round Top by celebrating 150 years of the town that’s “Big Time Small” with a huge birthday bash that’s fun for the whole family.
The party kicks off with a cannon blast at 10:00 am Saturday morning and lasts throughout the night. Highlights of the event include magic shows and firetruck sprays, free cupcakes and treats inside the square’s courthouse, historical presentations and tours, live music from the Black Cat Choir, and the first ever “Taste of Round Top”-showcasing the best of the best food from Round Top to locals and visitors alike. Tours of the inside and out of the beautiful Festival Hill grounds will be open to the public throughout the day, with a special concert featuring James Dick, Julie Bouchard, and Mike Stroup held for the first 150 guests at 3:00. Ending the night will be Country Legends Tribute to Waylon, Willie & George in the Historic Dancehall, making it a party everyone will remember for years to come. The Sesquicentennial Committee hopes that guests will be enticed to spend Mother’s Day Weekend in Round Top creating memories of community spirit and familyfriendly fun.
