Cattle Women Ranch Run Set Aug. 7

Navidad Valley CattleWomen will hold their 8th Annual 5K Ranch Run on Aug. 7 in conjunction with the Schulenburg Festival. Online registration will remain open until Thursday, Aug. 5, at http://getmeregistered.com/NVCattleWomen5K. Additionally, there will be onsite registration starting at 6 a.m. on race day. There is a shorter one-mile option for those who want to join-in but may not be ready to tackle the 5K.

100% of funds raised will be awarded to graduating seniors from Fayette, Lavaca, and Colorado counties with an interest in agriculture. Navidad Valley CattleWomen have presented almost $70,000 in scholarships since they first awarded scholarships in 2006.

The Navidad Valley Cattle-Women, a local chapter of the Texas Cattlewomen, is a nonprofit organization that supports and promotes the beef industry. The Navidad Valley local works to support area youth with scholarships and provide quality information on the industry and how to incorporate beef into a healthy diet. Additionally, they work to support the community with targeted outreach projects that include a beefy twist.
