Cat Steals Watch and Other Suspicious Activities

La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of May 9-16.

Suspicious Person/Vehicle

On May 10, Mohr received a call of a suspicious vehicle in the 2300 block of W. State Highway 71 Business. Officer arrived and found the person was out of gas and trying to get to Houston. Officer took them to a gas station and filled the vehicle up since he was out of money.

On May 10, Currington was dispatched to the 900 block of E. Colorado for a suspicious person. Officer asked the subject to leave the property at the request of the property manager.

On May 11, Currington was dispatched to the 800 block of E. Travis for a suspicious subject. Subject had already left when officer arrived.

On May 12, Maxwell was dispatched to the 400 block of N. Jefferson in regard to a suspicious person.

On May 14, Gilbreath spoke with a complainant in the 200 block of W. Colorado in regard to a suspicious vehicle parked in the parking lot every morning.

Burglary

On May 10, Patrolman Kevin Currington was dispatched to the 400 block of College for a possible burglary. Complainant called back and advised that her cat had grabbed the watch and had it hidden. There was no burglary or theft.

Alarm

On May 10, Sgt. Travis Anderson responded to a silent alarm in the 200 block of E. Travis. Upon arrival officer found all was normal. Officer spoke with employees who advised they are doing a remodel and set off the alarm by accident. Officer cleared call.

On May 12, Patrolman John Wostarek was dispatched to the 2200 block of W. State Highway 71 Business for an alarm. Officer arrived on location and spoke with a male subject that stated that he was cleaning the ovens and that he used the wrong alarm code.

Citizen Assist

On May 9, Wostarek was dispatched to the 100 block of Charles in regard to a citizen assist.

Disorderly Conduct

On May 13, Patrolman Mitchell Maxwell was dispatched to the 100 block of S. Jefferson in regard to threats.

Disturbance

On May 12, Patrolman Brett Meinardus received a call from a complainant that stated that a subject became very agitated and has not been attending school. Officer spoke to the caller who advised no physical violence occurred.

Assault

On May 10, Patrolman David Mohr received a call of a family assault in the 700 block of N. Eckel. Officer arrived and took report.

Fraud

On May 13, Meinardus spoke with complainant at the police station who advised he was the victim of fraud and that someone used his bank account number to take money from his account. Officer took information.

Harassment

On May 11, Chief David Gilbreath responded to the 200 block of N. Washington where complainant reported being harassed by a former employee.

Theft

On May 11, Gilbreath responded to the 1600 block of W. Travis where complainant reported a theft.

Trespassing

On May 9, Patrolman Robin Emmons responded to the 400 block of E. Travis for a subject that did not pay for a chocolate milk. Complainant did not want to pursue theft charges and wanted the subject to stay off the property. Officer located the subject in the 100 block of E. Travis and issued him a no trespassing warning, which he signed.

On May 12, Gilbreath responded to the 500 block of E. Guadalupe where complainant reported someone is living in his garage and he wants them out.

Warrant Arrest

On May 14, Currington was dispatched to the 200 block of N. Main in reference to a subject with an outstanding felony warrant. Officer arrested subject and transported them to the Fayette County Jail without incident.

On May 15, Patrolman Curtis Zwahr arrested a subject with a misdemeanor warrant in the 1600 block of N. Jefferson.

Welfare Check

On May 11, Mohr received a call of a welfare concern in the 1000 block of Sunset.

On May 12, Wostarek was dispatched to the 1700 block of N. Jefferson in regard to a welfare concern. Subject stated he was fine and was just resting.

Miscellaneous

On May 9, Wostarek was dispatched to the 900 block of N. Horton in regard to a noise complaint.

On May 10, Currington spoke with a subject in the 200 block of Northpointe about possible harassment.

On May 10, Mohr responded to the 400 block of S. College for a loud diesel truck that had been idling for over an hour. Officer met with owner and the vehicle was turned off.

On May 11, Currington spoke with a subject at the police station in regard to a possible scam.
