Carmine Volunteer Fire Dept. Drill Night is This Thursday

Carmine Volunteer Fire Department Drill Night is Sept. 9 at 7 p.m.

They remind members that dues may be paid at any time. They are $10 and may be mailed to CVFD, P.O. Box 217, Carmine, TX 78932.

A reminder to all residents is to make sure your house numbers are placed so that they can be seen from the road, even at night.

RT-C ISD News

Round Top-Carmine High school JV and Varsity volleyball teams are scheduled to host Brazos Christian on Sept. 7 at 5 p.m. The first district game will be Sept. 10 when they play at Somerville at 5 p.m.

MLLC Women of the ELCA

The Women of the ELCA of Martin Luther Lutheran Church will hold their Unit General meeting in the Fellowship Hall on Sept. 9 at 1 p.m., prior to the Rebekah Group meeting.

Worship Committee meets Tuesday, Sept. 7 at 4:30 p.m.

WELCA Unit General Meeting is Thursday at 1 p.m.

Rebekah Group meets Thursday at 2 p.m.

Saturday worship with Holy Communion is at 6 p.m.

Sunday School meets Sunday at 9 a.m.

Worship with Holy Communion, observing the 16th Sunday after Pentecost, is at 10 a.m. Praise Team leads songs and there are cans for the Noisy Offering available. The service will also be on the mllccarmine. com website. The Rev. David Tinker is the pastor. Christian Ed and Property Committees meet after worship.

Quilting for Lutheran World Relief is Monday at 9 a.m.

Recycling Trailer

The recycling trailer is at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from noon until 4 p.m.

Attendants are available to help unload dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, clean #1 and #2 food grade plastics (milk cartons should be separated from other plastic), all colors glass, steel food cans, and aluminum cans.

The trailer is in Ledbetter from 8:30-11 a.m., also on Thursdays, behind the Ledbetter Fireman’s Hall.

Visitors’ Center

Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second and fourth Fridays and Saturdays of the month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
