Carmine VFD to Meet March 25, Elect Officers
Carmine Volunteer Fire Department drill night is March 11. The annual meeting with election of officers will be on March 25. New members are welcome. They are in need of persons who can make emergency calls.

Brooke Schobel was crowned Homecoming Queen and Ryker Goehring, was named Basketball Beau, at Round Top-Carmine High School on Feb. 26. The ceremony took place as a special event in the beautifully decorated gym in Carmine.
Round Top-Carmine High School Spring Break will be March 15-19.
Sympathies
Sympathy is extended to the family of the Rev. Dr. Hilmer C. Krause who passed away on Feb. 15 in Austin, Texas. The funeral service was held at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church in Austin on Feb. 23. He served as pastor at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine from 1972-1976.
Sympathy is also extended to the family of Elvera Rudloff, who passed away on Feb. 22 in Houston. Her funeral was held Feb. 27 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine. She was formerly active in the Combined Community Action program and drove the van, picking up persons to bring to the center for meals and activities.
MLLC News
Lenten service will be held in Carmine at 7 p.m. on March 10 with Pastor David Tinker leading the service.
Women of the ELCA unit will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday, followed by the Rebekah Group meeting at 2 p.m.
Saturday worship with Holy Communion is at 6 p.m.
Sunday School is Sunday at 9 a.m. Worship with Holy Communion, observing the Fourth Sunday in Lent, is at 10 a.m. Praise Team leads hymns and the Noisy Offering cans are available to place the donation. This year the offering will go to the food pantries in La Grange and Burton. The service will also be on the mllccarmine.com website. The Rev. David Tinker is the pastor.
Recycling Trailer
The recycling trailer is at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from noon until 4 p.m.
Dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, clean #1 and #2 food grade plastics (milk cartons should be separated from other plastic), all colors glass, steel food cans, and aluminum cans are accepted. It is very helpful to have the recycled items separated. Attendants are available to help unload.
They kindly ask that you please wait to drop off items when they are open.
The trailer is in Ledbetter from 8:30 to 11 a.m., also on Thursdays, behind the Ledbetter Fireman’s Hall.
Visitors’ Center
Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second and fourth Fridays and Saturdays of the month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
