Carmine Volunteer Fire Department Annual Feast and Fundraiser is this Sunday, July 18 with a drive-thru fried chicken dinner served from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. (or until sold out) at the Carmine Hall. Donations will be accepted as payment for the meal. Tickets are being sold for the drawing only and may be purchased from any CVFD member and at Carmine State Bank. If any are left, they will also be sold on the day of the fundraiser.
It Rained on the Parade
Six inches of rain fell in Carmine from July 3 to 4. It rained the whole time during the Round Top Fourth of July parade, but everyone seemed to be having a great time, making the best of it. Candy floated down the ditches. Floats and trucks got stuck back at the Round Top Rifle Hall after the parade, but friendly folks were there to pull them out. What a great country we live in.
