Carmine Lions Collecting Toys for Deputy Santa

The Carmine Lions Club will meet Dec. 14 for their meeting and Christmas Party at the Carmine Volunteer Fire Department Annex at 6:30 p.m. The chicken spaghetti meal will be catered by Sandtown Catering. A game is scheduled along with door prizes. Call or text Marie at (979) 451-0141 to RSVP by Dec. 7.

The Food Drive is going well. Four deliveries have been made to the food pantry in La Grange.

Toys are being collected for the Deputy Santa Program. There will be a box at the Carmine State Bank until Dec. 15. They may also be brought to the December meeting.

Young Farmers Christmas Party

RT-C Young Farmers Christmas party for members and guests will be held on Thursday, Dec. 9 at 6 p.m. at the Round Top Hall.

Christmas Program

The Sunday School Christmas program at MLLC will be held on Sunday, Dec. 12 during the worship service which begins at 10 a.m. A birthday party for Jesus along with a variety of soups will be served by the Christian Education Committee following the service.

Ledbetter Lane of Lights

The Ledbetter Christmas Lane of Lights continues this Friday and Saturday through Dec. 18 from 6-9 p.m. Enjoy a hayride through a lighted path of Christmas reflections.

Tickets are $10 per person and children 2 years and under are free. Live musical entertainment and Santa will be there each night. Location is FM 1291 at Highway 290.

Baptism

Brooklyn O’Malley was baptized Nov. 28 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church by the Rev. David Tinker. Her parents are Jackson and Lauren O’Malley. Sponsors are Kevin Hinze, Leslie Hinze, and Jenna O’Malley.

RT-C School News

Round Top-Carmine basketball teams are playing some games, but there is not a complete schedule available at this time. Check the RTC Facebook page.

The Christmas holidays will be Dec. 20-Jan. 5.

Carmine VFD Carmine Volunteer Fire Department drill night will be held on Dec. 9.

MLLC News Worship Committee meets Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.

Advent service is Wednesday at 7 p.m. A meal will be served at 6 p.m., preceding the service. Both will be held in the Fellowship Hall.

Rebekah Group meets Thursday at noon with the meal served first.

Saturday worship with Holy Communion is at 6 p.m.

Sunday worship with Holy Communion observing the Third Sunday in Advent is at 10 a.m. the Sunday School will present their Christmas program. The service will also be on the website: mllccarmine. com. The Rev. David Tinker is the pastor.

A variety of soups will be served after worship.

Quilting for Lutheran World Relief is Monday at 9 a.m.

Recycling Trailer

The recycling trailer is at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from noon until 4 p.m.

Attendants are available to help unload dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, clean #1 and #2 food grade plastics (milk cartons should be separated from other plastic), all colors glass, steel food cans, and aluminum cans.

The trailer is in Ledbetter from 8:30-11 a.m., also on Thursdays, behind the Ledbetter Fireman’s Hall.

Visitors’ Center

Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second and fourth Fridays and Saturdays of the month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
