The Carmine Lions Club is collecting toys for the Deputy Santa program in Fayette County until Dec. 17. Toys may be placed in the box at Carmine State Bank.

RT-C School News) 

Varsity girls play at Fayetteville on Dec. 16 at 5 p.m. Midterm/Benchmark testing at the high school is on Dec. 17.

Classes will be dismissed at 12:30 on Dec. 18, which is the last day of classes in 2025. Classes resume on Jan. 7, 2026. Jan. 6 is a teacher work day.

Ledbetter Lane of Lights The last weekend for the Ledbetter Christmas Lane of Lights is on Dec. 19 and 20 from 6-8:30 p.m. Enjoy a hayride, hot chocolate, wassail, popcorn, cookies, Santa and music.

Admission is $10 per person and children two years and younger are free. Cash or checks are accepted.

All proceeds benefit the Ledbetter Volunteer Fire Department. For more information, or for large groups, contact Gwen at (979) 540-0105.

Lighting Contest 

Have your lights on for the annual Christmas Lighting Contest for both homes and businesses on Dec. 19 and 20 from dusk to 9:30 p.m. Help give the town the Christmas Spirit.

The Carmine City Park has something new this year with a number of lighted trees.

Capital Area Food Bank The Capital Area Food Bank mobile pantry will be available on Dec. 20 from 10-11 a.m. in the parking lot of the Waldeck Evangelical Lutheran Church, located near the intersection of FM 1291 and FM 2145. It is for Fayette County residents.

MLLC News 

Senior Citizens meal pickup and dominoes are Wednesday from 8:30-11:30 a.m. in the Mission and Ministry Building.

Advent service is Wednesday with the Rev. John David Nedbalek leading the service. A meal will be served at 6 p.m., followed by worship at 7 p.m. Both are held in the Fellowship Hall. It is a combined service of Bethlehem Lutheran of Round Top, St. Paul Lutheran of Shelby, Waldeck Lutheran, and Martin Luther Lutheran of Carmine.

AA meeting is Saturday at 8:30 a.m.

Sunday School is Sunday at 9 a.m.

Worship service with Holy Communion, observing the fourth Sunday in Advent, is at 10 a.m. The Rev. Donna Wright will serve as the guest pastor.

Domino party is Monday at 1 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Recycle Trailers

The recycling trailers are at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from 1-4 p.m. They will not be there on Christmas Day.

Clean milk cartons should be kept separate from the other No. 2 plastics. They also accept clean No. 1 plastic bottles and jugs. Note that numbers 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 plastics and plastic bags are not accepted.

Also accepted are dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, all colors glass, steel food cans and aluminum cans. Attendants are available to help unload.
