Carmine Classic Car Show Slated Feb. 13
The 7th annual Sweetheart Classic Car Show will be held on Saturday, Feb. 13 on the south side of Highway 290 in Carmine. It opens at 8 a.m. and the display will be from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Come for a fun day and show off your favorite classic(s) for all to take in.

Blood Drive
The Blood Drive will be held Sunday, Jan. 24 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Martin Luther Lutheran Church fellowship hall in Carmine. It is sponsored in conjunction with Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Round Top. Appointments are needed. To sign up, go to the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center website. RT-C School News
Round Top-Carmine High School varsity girls and boys basketball teams host Richards Jan. 22. They play at Calvert Jan. 26.
Jr. High teams play at North Zulch Jan. 25.
Carmine VFD
Carmine Volunteer Fire Department has received their new truck. It is considered an all-purpose truck which can be used for grass, vehicle, and structure fires. It was mostly sponsored by the Texas Forest Service.
Regular meeting is Jan. 28.
42 Club
After enjoying a delicious lunch at JW’s Steakhouse, the Carmine 42 Club played eight games on January 6.
The high scoring partners were Carol Jenkens and Jeanette Schoenst who played four hands of 84. The low scoring partners were Carol Naegeli and Marlene Waak who also played four hands of 84. Other players were Edith Flinn, Carolyn Meischen, Betty Porter, and Linda Mattocks. Everyone enjoyed the camaraderie and friendly competition.
Sympathy
Sympathy is extended to the family of Fritz Schoenst who passed away on Jan 5. He previously was very active in the communities of Round Top and Carmine.
MLLC News
Confirmation is Wednesday at 4:15 p.m. Saturday worship with Holy Communion is at 6 p.m. Sunday School is Sunday at 9 a.m. Worship with Holy Communion, observing the Third Sunday after Epiphany, is at 10 a.m. Church Council members will be installed. The service will also be on the mllccarmine.com website. The Rev. David Tinker is the pastor.
The blood drive is from 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m.
Men in Mission meet Monday at 7 p.m.
Recycling Trailer
The recycling trailer is at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from noon until 4 p.m.
Dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, clean no. 1 and no. 2 food grade plastics, all colors of glass, steel food cans, and aluminum cans are accepted. It is very helpful to have the recycled items separated. Attendants are available to help unload.
They kindly ask that you please wait to drop off items when they are open.
The trailer is in Ledbetter from 8:30-11 a.m., also on Thursdays, behind the Ledbetter Fireman’s Hall.
Visitors’ Center
Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second and fourth Fridays and Saturdays of the month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
