Carmine Cemetery to Hold Decoration Service
The Carmine Cemetery Decoration service will be held Sunday, May 16 at 2 p.m. at the cemetery.
Carmine Lions Club
The Carmine Lions Club meeting is on Tuesday, May 11 at JW’s Steakhouse at 6:30 p.m., followed by the meal.
RT-C School News
Round Top-Carmine High School baseball team was scheduled to play at Snook on May 4, due to the wet field conditions the previous Friday and Monday. Watch for more news concerning the playoffs.
Grades 3 through 6 will take the STAAR math test on May 11. They will take the reading test on May 12. The science test on May 13 is for grade 5.
The Senior Academic Banquet will be held on May 18 after the school day. Guests will be limited and will need a ticket. It will be livestreamed for parents and community members to view.
The school is continuing to require face masks on campus. With this rule in place, they should be able to complete the school year.
Blood Drive
The Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center is sponsoring a Blood Drive at Martin Luther Lutheran Church on Sunday, May 23 from 9:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.
Appointments are required and you may contact khardin@giveblood.org to schedule one. It is in conjunction with Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Round Top.
Waldeck Church Picnic
Waldeck Lutheran Church Annual Picnic is scheduled for May 23. There will be a drivethru meal catered by Texas One Stop in La Grange consisting of pulled pork, sausage, hot potato salad, pinto beans, and sauce. Tickets are $10 and available in the Martin Luther Lutheran Church office. There will also be a drawing.
Carmine VFD
At the regular meeting on April 22, four Carmine Volunteer Fire Department Firemen were presented plaques for extra help beyond the call of duty. They have performed services at the Fire Station which has greatly helped the Fire Department. Receiving plaques were Daryl Ray, Dennis Gerland, B. J. Finke, and Chris Carmean.
Drill night will be held on Thursday, May 13.
MLLC News
Rebekah Group meets Thursday at 2 p.m.
Saturday worship with Holy Communion is at 6 p.m.
Sunday School meets Sunday at 9 a.m.
Sunday worship with Holy Communion and Confirmation is at 10 a.m. The four youth who will be affirming their baptism are Brody Dooley, Drayton Oakes, Joshua Aranzolo, and Nicholas Roemer. The service will also be on the mllccarmine.com website. The Rev. David Tinker is the pastor.
Domino party is Monday at 1 p.m. in the Mission & Ministry Building.
Recycle Trailer
The Recycling trailer is at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from noon until 4 p.m.
Dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, clean no. 1 and no. 2 food grade plastics (milk cartons should be separated from other plastic), all colors glass, steel food cans, and aluminum cans are accepted. Attendants are available to help unload.
They kindly ask that you please wait to drop off items when they are open. It is very helpful to have the recycled items separated.
The trailer is in Ledbetter from 8:30-11 a.m., also on Thursdays, behind the Ledbetter Fireman’s Hall.
Carmine Chamber
Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second and fourth Fridays and Saturdays of the month from 10-2.
