Carmine 42 Club Celebrates Christmas With Games and Fellowship Dec. 10

The Carmine 42 Club met on Dec. 10 at Windmill Ranch Lodge in Carmine for their Christmas party. The ladies exchanged gifts of Christmas ornaments.
After a delicious pizza lunch from Reba’s and homemade desserts made by the domino ladies, eight games of 42 were played among partners determined by drawing for positions at the tables.
High scoring partners were La Verne Albers and Marlene Waak with a score of 1,800 and they played one hand of 84. The next highest score of 1,723 was achieved by Avalda Pohl and Jeanette Schoenst, and they played two hands of 84. Partners Myrt Meinkowsky and Edith Flinn played one hand of 84. Betty Porter and Carol Naegeli also played one hand of 84.
Everyone enjoyed the challenging games and fellowship. The group will meet again on Jan. 7 at JW’s Steakhouse. RT-C School News
Round Top-Carmine ISD is on break for the Christmas/ Winter holidays. Classes resume on Jan. 7, 2026. Jan. 6 is a teacher work day.

Senior Citizens meal pickup and dominoes are Wednesday from 8:30-11:30 a.m. in the Mission and Ministry Building.
Christmas Eve Candlelight service is Wednesday at 6 p.m. The Lutheran Youth Organization will present a drama.
There will not be a Christmas Day service this year.
AA meeting is Saturday at 8:30 a.m.
Sunday School is Sunday at 9 a.m.
Worship service with Holy Communion, observing the first Sunday after Christmas, is at 10 a.m. The Rev. Donna Wright will serve as the guest pastor.
Domino party is Monday at 1 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
RT-C Education Foundation The Round Top-Carmine Education Foundation presents its annual “Small School, Big Hearts Celebration” on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026.
There are four levels of event sponsorships. The gold level is $1,000 (8 dinner tickets); black level is $750 (6 dinner tickets); white level is $500 (4 dinner tickets); and red level is $250 (2 dinner tickets). The gold, black, and white levels also include drink tickets, reserved seating, verbal recognition at the event; social media acknowledgement; dessert by Royer’s Pie Haven; and art by an art student. The red level includes drink tickets, reserved seating, and social media acknowledgment.
Individual tickets will also be available for purchase at the local schools and banks, and at Round Top Mercantile. The meal will be served from 5-6 p.m. If you have any questions, call (979) 249-7183.
There will be a Silent Auction beginning the week before the event and a Live Auction at the celebration.

Meals on Wheels
Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels with Combined Community Action is on Wednesdays at the Martin Luther Lutheran Church Mission and Ministry Building located at 250 Augsburg Ave. in Carmine.
Come early to play dominoes and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. Hours are 9-11:30 a.m.
Five meals come in a box along with milk, dessert, and bread for a donation of $10. This makes it $2 per meal. It is for seniors age 60 and up. Food usually arrives about 10 a.m. and must be picked up by 11:30 a.m.
To sign up, come by on any Wednesday morning to fill out the paperwork. For more information, contact Marilyn Wagner at (979) 2774134. She is pleased to announce that the meal program will continue in 2026, thanks to all who have signed up.
