Calls Keep La Grange Officers Busy Last Week of August
La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of On Aug. 22-29.
Assault
On Aug. 22, Sgt. Travis Anderson received a call regarding a male with a machete in the 1300 block of N. Jefferson.
Agency Assist
On Aug. 24, Patrolman Mitchell Maxwell was dispatched to the 100 block of NW Circle in regard to an agency assist.
Alarm
On Aug. 24, Patrolman John Wostarek was dispatched to the 500 block of S. Washington in regard to an alarm.
On Aug. 26, Patrolman Kevin Currington was dispatched to the 1000 block of N. Jefferson for a panic alarm. Upon arrival officer found it was a false alarm.
Animal Complaint
On Aug. 25, Currington was dispatched to the 700 block of Highway 71 Business for loose dogs at the river bridge. Dogs were gone upon officers arrival.
Accident
On Aug. 24, Patrolman Brett Meinardus responded to the 2100 block of W. State Highway 71 Business for a two-vehicle accident in the parking lot. Subjects exchanged insurance and were issued a blue form.
On Aug. 24, Meinardus responded to the 200 block of N. Jefferson for a two-vehicle accident.
Criminal Mischief
On Aug. 29, Patrolman John Wostarek observed damage to a sign in the 200 block of E. Colorado.
Disorderly Conduct
On Aug. 27, Maxwell was dispatched to the 400 block of N. Jefferson in regard to an irate subject.
On Aug. 29, Meinardus responded to the 1700 block of E. State Highway 71 Bypass where caller advised of a customer yelling and cursing and acting rudely. Subject left before officer arrived.
Disturbance
On Aug. 22, Anderson viewed a disturbance in the 500 block of W. Travis.
On Aug. 25, Anderson received a call of a disturbance in the 500 block of N. Logan. An individual was arrested for resisting arrest and a terroristic threat.
Juvenile Complaint
On Aug. 25, Patrolman Curtis Zwahr received information on a juvenile complaint in the 100 block of S. Vail.
On Aug. 28, Maxwell spoke with an individual in the 1100 block of N. Von Minden in regard to a juvenile complaint.
Suspicious Person/Vehicle
On Aug. 24, Investigator Troy Stevens responded to the 300 block of N. Jackson for a suspicious person sitting near the railroad tracks at N. Jackson and La Fayette.
On Aug. 25, Anderson received a call in regard to a suspicious black female that had walked by complainant’s house in the 400 block of E. Lafayette and threw what he believed to be drug paraphernalia in the bed of his truck. The complainant threw it in the trash but showed the officer. The item was not drug paraphernalia but a metal connector. The female had walked off in an unknown direction.
On Aug. 25, Patrolman David Mohr received a call of a suspicious person on the side of the roadway in the 2200 block of N. Jefferson. Officer was unable to locate the subject.
On Aug. 25, Currington was dispatched to the 100 block of E Colorado for a suspicious subject hanging around. Subject was gone upon officers arrival.
On Aug. 25, Currington was dispatched to the 100 block of E. Travis for a suspicious subject Officer arrived and asked the subject to leave.
On Aug. 26, Anderson received a call of a female walking and talking to herself and snooping around mailboxes. Officer located the female and advised her not to be opening mailboxes that were not hers. The female advised she would not do that anymore. The officer advised her not to throw on other people’s property as well. The call was then cleared.
On Aug. 26, Currington was dispatched to the 200 block of W. Travis to a subject that would not leave. When officer arrived the subject had left.
On Aug. 27, Wostarek was dispatched to the 400 block of S. Monroe in regard to a suspicious person. Officer searched the area and was unable to locate the subject.
On Aug. 27, Anderson received a call to contact complainant in the 300 block of Fireside in regard to a suspicious circumstance.
On Aug. 27, Mohr received a call of a subject who picked up a paving brick and moved it in the 500 block of N. Jefferson.
On Aug. 28, Maxwell spoke to caller in the 100 block of E. Pearl in regard to a suspicious person.
On Aug. 28, Wostarek was dispatched to the 1100 block of E. Camp in regard to a suspicious person knocking on the door. Officer searched the area but was unable to locate anyone.
On Aug. 28, Maxwell checked on a suspicious vehicle in the 100 block of S. Washington.
Terroristic Threat
On Aug. 28, Meinardus responded to the 200 block of E. Milam where complainant stated she was walking with her dog when a subject began yelling and threatening her and her dog.
Theft
On Aug. 22, Currington spoke with a subject in the 2000 block of W. State Highway 71 Business in regard to a theft at the location.
On Aug. 24, Meinardus responded to the 1700 block of W. State Highway 71 in regard to a stolen laptop.
On Aug. 24, Maxwell was dispatched to the 2000 block of W. State Highway 71 in regard to a theft.
Trespassing
On Aug. 28, Meinardus responded to the 1000 block of Highway 159 where complainant advised that a former employee was in the store knocking items off the shelves and complainant wants a criminal trespass issued on the subject.
Welfare Check
On Aug. 26, Currington was dispatched to the 1900 block of Highway 159 for a welfare check on a subject. Subject was fine.
On Aug. 27, Meinardus responded to the 900 block of E. Guadalupe for a welfare check.
On Aug. 28, Meinardus was dispatched to the 100 block of E. Travis for a welfare check on a subject walking through the store talking to himself.
On Aug. 28, Meinardus responded to the 2200 block of W. State Highway 71 Business where a caller had stated that it looked like and elderly subject was in her car passed out. Meinardus arrived and spoke to subject who stated she fell asleep and was fine.
