Bunco Ladies Mark 31 Years of Friendship and Giving
The Round Top-Carmine Bunco group enjoyed an evening of food, fun, and fellowship at the home of Leonita Sanders, with co-host, Susan Bathe, on Tuesday, Aug. 18. Several exciting games of Bunco were played. Special donations of ten Taco Soup meal bags and $100 were given by the ladies for AMEN in La Grange. This Bunco group has been together since 1995 with the same twelve ladies, enjoying over 31 years of fun times with each other.
Shrimp Boil Fundraiser The 3rd Annual Shrimp Boil Fundraiser for the RTCarmine Booster Club will be held Saturday, Sept. 26, at Round Top Hall. Happy Hour begins at 5 p.m with the meal served at 6 p.m. Live and silent auction with a DJ and entertainment after the auction. A limited number of tickets still remain. Women of the ELCA
The Women of the ELCA met on Aug.13 for their General Meeting. Attending were Sedalia Ullrich, Joys Baird, Susan Ray, Diana Wunderlich, Joann Ullrich, Loydine Mays, Leonita Sanders, Dianna Gerland, and Nancy Eilers. The group recited the Purpose and Mission Statements. Leonita welcomed and presented the devotion, Jesus Love Me, and the opening prayer.
A review of the activities for the first part of 2026 were as follows: AMEN ingatherings of 70 lbs. for Feb. and then for May/ June 231 lbs. including Taco Soup meals and food given at the Salad Supper that were taken to La Grange.
The quilting group meets one Monday the each month. Over 70 quilts were made for Lutheran World Relief, one for the Lutherhill Gala in September, and 6 fleece quilted throws for CASA. 21 Baby Care kits have been assembled along with over 20 School kits. Cancelled postage stamps continue to be collected for Stamps for the Wounded.
The Western Cluster Spring Gathering was held on April 18 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Columbus, with several of our women attending. Dr. Mazie Leftwich presented an inspirational program.
Mother’s Day offering was given to the Upbring’s New Life Children’s Center in Canyon Lake. The annual Salad Supper and the program, Feeding the Multitudes, was held on June 3 with Susan Schultz and Mary Lou McElroy of AMEN, La Grange, giving an informative presentation of what AMEN and how our Fayette County community is helped. Our women and guests brought food and TACO meal kits for AMEN and gave an offering of $1,250.
New officers were elected for the new term in 2027. Nancy Eilers was re-elected as secretary and Theresa Garlin as the treasurer.
AMEN gatherings continue in August and then in November.
The annual RTC Teacher breakfast was held on Aug. 17 at Bethlehem Lutheran, Round Top. Several of our women provided breakfast items and helped to serve.
Funeral serving chairpersons met on August 20 to update the lists for the 2027 yearbooks. Nancy and Joys will be working on the yearbooks and will receive any changes that need to be made.
Lutheran World Relief shipment will be on Saturday, Nov. 7, at Zionsville. Our WELCA will be providing quilts, baby care kits, school kits, and personal care kits along with an offering and truck expense for shipping.
The MLLC Harvest Festival will be held on Sunday, Oct. 18, here at the church. Our women will be helping and providing a gift card for the raffle.
Our annual Thankoffering Service with Holy Communion will be on Sunday, Nov. 8, with Tim Pitts of Giddings providing the message. A catered meal of Turkey/Ham and Dressing by Wade Weigelt will follow for to-go only meals at $15 from the Mission & Ministry Building.
The meeting closed with The Lord’s Prayer.

Sunday School begins Sunday at 9 a.m.
Worship with Holy Communion, observing the 15th Sunday after Pentecost, is Sunday at 10 a.m. The Rev. Bonnie Parker will serve as the guest pastor.

Senior Citizens meet on Wednesday from 8:30-11:30 a.m. in the Mission & Ministry Building. Meal Pick-Up and Dominoes.
