Fayetteville Community Center

Fayetteville Community Center Group board members John and Martha Dennis, and Joan and Jerry Herring met to discuss plans for the Fayetteville Community Center & Performance Theater. Joining in the planning was Glenn Turner, vice president of production operations at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington D.C. He’s in charge of all the theaters in the Kennedy Center. After 20 years there, Glenn and his wife Jessica will be relocating to Houston.

Their interest in the Fayetteville Theater project came about through mutual friends and Glenn has been following the progress of the theater plans long distance. While on a stop to Houston, Glen came to Fayetteville to review the plans in person with Dennis, who is managing the planning and construction process. Glenn offered feedback, gave his blessing and voiced his excitement about the theater becoming a reality. For more information on the project go to www.fayettevillecommunitycenter.org.

Barbecue dinners can be picked up in the drive-thru line beginning at 10:30 a.m. Barbecue sandwiches and sausage wraps will be served at 1:30 p.m. Look for lots of items to bid on at the live country auction, including the queen size quilt made by the ladies of St. John’s and St. Mary’s.
