Bugle Boy Programs For Nursing Homes, Hospice Patients Continue

After a long COVID-related break from Nursing Home and Swan Songs (Hospice patients) concerts, the Bugle Boy Foundation has resumed both.

Swan Song concerts can be requested for Fayette County residents in Hospice care in a genre of the patient’s choosing free of charge to the recipient. The Bugle Boy has done one in a private home and another, a mariachi show at Schulenburg Regency, was shared with all residents.

The Nursing Home Concert Series also resumed in June. Concerts featuring Phil Hurley, Mike Roberts, and most recently “Bad” Bob Rohan and Mike Stroup were presented.

On Friday, July 16, Bad Bob and Mike presented three Western swing/old country shows at Care Inn La Grange, Regency Nursing Home and Regency Independent Living in Schulenburg. Residents sang along, kept time with their feet and seemed genuinely pleased that the Bugle Boy has resumed its outreach concerts. These shows are funded through local grants and individual donations to the Bugle Boy Foundation.

The Bugle Boy Foundation is a music-based 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization serving Fayette County through live shows at their venue (reopening in August) and through musical outreach programs.
