On the left of the photo, three men are shown leaning against a rail. The man in the center was Johnson’s great-grandfather Ernst C. Albrecht. Johnson said the bridge washed out at this location several times before being bypassed by State Highway 159. The bridge was moved to its current location on Haw Creek Road around 1929. Fayette County will auction off the old truss bridge that crosses Cummins Creek on Haw Creek Road. Pct. 2 Commissioner Luke Sternadel said a person interested in the bridge approached him about purchasing it a few months ago.
