Boehnke Celebrates Grandson’s Engagement

Dana and Darrell Kulak along with grandpa Devon Boehnke drove to Boling to attend their son Elton Kulak and soon to be daughter in law Miko Anderson’s wedding shower. It was held in the Boiling Fire Department building and the theme was the Great Gatsby and everyone dressed in the roaring 20s. There were lots of wonderful snacks to satisfy those who took the effort to dress up and come out to celebrate the couple. They had a blast catching up with old friends and celebrating the upcoming nuptials.

Weather

The rain has stopped for a while. Temperatures are starting to rise and the humidity is really starting to kick in and making it feel very hot. The pastures are saturated and there are some who are going out on their ATVs and getting stuck. Meanwhile yards are growing, too. Some yards are still standing water and making it hard to mow. The cattlemen are very happy with all the rain and are looking at when they will get a chance to get in the hay fields to make hay. This is the best stand of grass ranchers have seen in recent years.

Out and About

Ron and Pam Knotts recently had a nice visit from Pam’s brother Ray Langenberg. Ray lives in Austin, but with everyone’s busy schedule he seem to make visits few and far between. Ray arrived in time to attend church with Ron and Pam at Flatonia Baptist and then they all went to lunch at Roberts Steakhouse, including good friend Charles Griste. After lunch Ray drove over to his place in Hallettsville where he had planned to spend the night, but a threatening thunderstorm cut his trip short. The road into his place easily floods and so he retreated. He stopped back by the Knotts place and they were able to catch up on more family news. The news exchange was mostly good news of kids and grandkids, along with some sad stories about elderly friends and family. It was agreed that the next visit must be soon so they are working on a date to put on the calendar.

James Ivy and I took a little trip into the hill country. We drove over to Dripping Springs, Spicewood, Mason, Llano and Burnet. In Llano we had lunch at a new place, BADU 1891 and enjoyed the lunch special of some great street tacos. James gracious allowed me to stop at a favorite quilt shop and visit with the ladies there while I shopped. We came home through Marble Falls where we stopped at The Bluebonnet Café for supper and a slice of pie. It was a very pretty drive and it was nice to see how green things were.

4th of July

The Muldoon 4th of July celebration has been canceled again this year. This is with the greatest of caution of the COVID 19 pandemic as it winds down.

Neighborhood Watch

Please keep an eye out for your neighbor. If you see something out of place, give them a call to check it out. If it is all good there is no harm, but if there is something wrong going on you could prevent harm from being done. If we all come together we can prevent crime in the area.
