Blood Drive Slated Jan. 24 in Carmine
Mark your calendars for the Blood Drive which will be held Sunday, Jan. 24 from 9:30 a.m. to2 p.m. at the Martin Luther Lutheran Church fellowship hall. It is sponsored in conjunction with Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Round Top.
RT-C School News
Round Top-Carmine High School varsity girls and boys basketball teams play at North Zulch Jan. 15. They both host Bartlett Jan. 19.
Carmine VFD
Carmine Volunteer Fire Department drill night is Jan. 14 at 7 p.m. Regular meeting is Jan. 28.
Be sure to have your house numbers placed where they are visible from the road, especially at night, so that emergency calls can be answered in a timely manner.
Sympathies Extended
Sympathy is extended to the family of Ginger Psencik who passed away on Dec. 17. She was active in the Carmine Chamber of Commerce and enjoyed antiques.
Sympathy is also extended to the family of Joyce Lehmann who passed away on Jan. 31. She lived in the Sandtown community and was now living at Bec’s Blessing in Giddings. She enjoyed gardening.
MLLC News
Rebekah Group meets Thursday at 2 p.m.
Saturday worship with Holy Communion is at 6 p.m.
Sunday School is Sunday at 9 a.m. Worship with Holy Communion, observing the Second Sunday after Epiphany, is at 10 a.m. The service will also be on the mllccarmine.com website. The annual congregational meeting follows worship. The Rev. David Tinker is the pastor.
Domino party is Monday at 1 p.m.
Church Council meets Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
Recycling Trailer
The recycling trailer is at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from noon until 4 p.m.
Dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, clean no. 1 and no. 2 food grade plastics, all colors glass, steel food cans, and aluminum cans are accepted. It is very helpful to have the recycled items separated. Attendants are available to help unload.
They kindly ask that you please wait to drop off items when they are open.
The trailer is in Ledbetter from 8:30-11 a.m., also on Thursdays, behind the Ledbetter Fireman’s Hall.
Visitors’ Center
Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second and fourth Fridays and Saturdays of the month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
