ARTS Celebrates Regional Artists
This December Arts for Rural Texas opens two exhibitions celebrating the creative artists and makers in the region. For the first time, ARTS will open sister shows at two locations in Fayette County. The first annual Holiday Show will be held at ARTS’ Campus in Fayetteville on Dec. 11, when Fayetteville holds its community festivities.
ARTS will offer fun holiday crafts for the kids from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and offers an opening reception of the Holiday Show at that location from 4 to 6 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. The second exhibition of different creative works is currently on display at ARTS at the Old Stanzel located at 1201 S. Kessler in Schulenburg. Here a fun opening including performances, a petting zoo, holiday crafts for the kids and, best of all, Santa. This event will happen on Dec. 16, starting at 4 p.m. Don’t miss this great celebration that is free and open to the public.
ARTS is known for its strong presence and contribution to youth education and experiences. The annual Holiday Show celebrates the makers, the artists, the hobbyists of the region. Creativity is defined as something that generates a new idea, insight, or solution through imagination rather than through logic or reason. Creative thinking often takes a different approach to problemsolving, and when that kind of approach is taken in a business atmosphere or a community, the outcome can be both rewarding and pleasantly surprising. These exhibiting artists offer paintings, sculpture, photography, fiber art, sculptural planters and more. In these exhibits, unique expressions stand side by side celebrating the joy of creation.
