Angel Supplies Organization Started

School supplies may just mean the beginning of a new school year for some, but for others like Maggie Cartwright who has started Angel Supplies in honor of her son Jakaiden who passed on Aug. 29, 2015 at just two weeks of age they mean so much more. “Around school time it’s always been difficult because I felt as if I missed out on buying school supplies,” said Cartwright.

Cartwright has decided this year to go ahead and purchase the items for the grade her son would have been in and donate them to the school to a child in need in his honor. Her first donation will be given to La Grange Elementary Principal Mrs. Almanza on Wednesday, Aug. 17.

Cartwright hopes to reach out to other parents who are wanting to join in to honor their little ones because along with their donation each bag they donate will have a note saying “in honor of (child’s name).” For the future, Cartwright would love to see Angel Supplies grow with each school year.
