American Legion Quad-Werchan Honors Girls State Attendees

The November meetings of the American Legion Quade-Werchan Post No. 338 and Ladies Auxiliary was held on Thursday, Nov. 4.

Prior to the meeting the post members, auxiliary members, and guests enjoyed a social hour to honor the students from Round Top-Carmine High School who attended the 2021 Girls State Convention. These students, Jerika Kraemer, Ilse Salinas, Jordan Stanley and Janette Weidemann, were supported by the Quade-Werchan Ladies Auxiliary Post No. 338. Due to the sudden change in the schedule for the playoff game involving the school’s girls volleyball team, only Jordan Stanley and her father, along with the High School Counselor, Debra Foster, were able to attend. Jordan gave a brief review of her experiences to those in attendance.

The Round Top Historical Society provided a decorated cake to honor the post members in recognition of Veterans Day that will occur on Nov. 11. Jeannette Burger, President of the society, gave a brief talk about the organization and their mission.
