77 Years Later, a Local WWII Soldier Who Died in Battle Still Remembered in France

Fayetteville Sgt. Rudolph (Rudy) Kubena was a Purple Heart honoree killed during battle in France in 1944 during WWII.
Last week, on the 77th anniversary of the death of Sgt. Rudy Kubena in WWII, one of the members of the Normandy 44-90th Infantry Division Association paid a tribute to him at the foot of a new marker in Beaucoudray where a month ago they dedicated a new plaque to the men of the 3rd battalion of the 357th Infantry Regiment.
