To the Editor: Many people say they are concerned about the US economy, thinking that the country is in big trouble. Nothing could be further from the truth.

To the editor: What kind of community would consider raising $30 to $35 million for an aquatic center but wouldn’t raise that amount of money to keep a hospital? Janice Barnett La Grange .

Misinformation seems to be a common topic these days. As a former journalist and reporter, I long for the days of Walter Cronkite, Barbara Walters, Huntley and Brinkley, Edward R.

To the editor: During all the hospital closing articles, I did not see any mention of our government efforts, only information about the Board and financial issues. First of all, I think that the hospital at times was the only business in town where some folks could go in for their needs and go out without paying.

To the editor: Voter’s deserve facts and truth, not the misinformation in many of last week’s letters. If one wants “the full story” on Trump and Vance just listen to what they tell you.

To the editor: Three weeks ago, while driving to La Grange, I observed a flag display that made me wonder, who will give them a tour of the camps. In this display, the flag of a certain politician was to the right and appeared forward of the American flag.

To the editor: This election season, some people have put up slogan signs without fully considering that they reflect a disregard for community harmony. It is good to put up signs when you really believe in a political candidate’s character, policies, and sense of service for the greater good.

To the editor: I was struck by the level of polarized opinions and some misleading narratives in last week’s letters. Curious if my perception was accurate, I ran the letters through AI software, ChatGPT and Claude.

To the editor: I am not a Democrat or. Republican, I am an Independent.
