I can’t believe it. I’m becoming more and more like my Mother.

It’s a new year, but the news out of the capital continues to focus on COVID-19. Gov.

In 1961 I was a dating teenager driving a 1961 Buick Special. My brother, George, was five years older than I and also dating. We had to work hard during the week but once that weekend came around, we were raring to go out three nights in a row. Both George and I slept upstairs in separate beds by now. We had somewhat of a curfew that Dad had established for us from day one. It was understood that we would be in bed by 1 a.m. On Sunday night it was to be even earlier than that because, come hell or high water, we had better be ready for work Monday morning by 7 a.m.

To the Editor: Why is this election even bigger than election fraud? Why is there a division between Americans based on political alignment? Why have Antifa attacks, vandalism, looting spontaneously appeared across our country? Why does it seem the media and social media are controlling freedom of speech? What entity wants a person in office who will be doing its bidding? Which top officials gave away our country? How was this done? Think power and $$$….their Achilles’ heel. Who benefits? To the Editor: I remember when I got back from Vietnam. How angry some people would get if they saw a young person wearing anything that resembled the American flag, and rightfully so.

To the Editor: Opening the electronic version of the FC Record early on Monday mornings is a risk to my blood pressure as well as my attitude depending on the tyranny here at the local level of government. Seems most folks have no problem pointing the finger at the federal level tyrants, perhaps due to the blatancy of the consistent excrement being thrown on us.

Muldoon is finally getting a little rain as 2020 is ending. Depending on where you were, some received over an inch others not as much at the time of this writing. It is so nice to see water standing in the fields.

We have made it through 2020 and we are here in 2021 and hoping for a promising change in the world. With the lack of rain in many places around the world, officials are looking towards a surprising old technology to change the weather: cloud seeding. Cloud seeding is technique that uses either a hygroscopic material or a super cooled materials, these materials are then spread through the clouds from either a plane, distributed off the top of a mountain, or, in the most American way possible, by shooting it into the air with a cannon. Both of these materials end up giving you the same result, rain, but they do that in very different ways. The hygroscopic material which can be, silver iodide, sulfur iodide or just good old salt, work by soaking up the water that is in the clouds into larger droplets which then would fall down to the Earth as rain, due to the increase in weight of the water droplets. The supercooled materials which can be dry ice, liquid nitrogen, or even liquid propane, work by creating ice crystals which do two things. First thing it does is create ice crystals that the water droplets are attracted to the ice, form up, increase in mass and fall as rain. The second property is that the introduction of the freezing materials lowers the temperature of the cloud and, thus lowers the ability of the cloud to hold the water in the clouds, thus creating rain. This is a proven and working process that creates rain for drought stricken areas, all though the reason that works, sometimes. The effectiveness of this process is anywhere from 10% to 75% and the environmental hazards of this are still a bit up in the air. Even though cloud seeding is a proven method for causing rain, the lack of research is the true reason for its lack of widespread use.
