Not All Fayetteville Residents Hate Trucks

To the Editor: Regarding the article “Fayetteville Residents Fed Up with 18-Wheeler Traffic,” we would like to ask: When? What? Perhaps the title could have been “Some Fayetteville Residents Fed Up with 18-wheeler traffic,” or even more precise, “Five local Fayetteville Residents Fed Up with 18-wheeler Traffic.” Who knows? But certainly not all Fayetteville residents because we were completely surprised with the headline but not the article. At one time in Fayetteville, sure there were only five 18-wheelers in a whole day.

Amazing Kubicek Legacy

To the Editor: The Kubicek name has been synonymous with the Smithville Post Office for almost 73 years. On September 30th that amazing legacy will come to end, when Ed retires.

Unseen personalities emerge in isolation. Will those traits remain after we reenter the world of hugs and co-mingling, she wonders? How long will I be hesitant to have a drink with friends, visit someone’s home, share a face to face encounter? I’ve been surprised by the reactions of some friends as they adjust (or is it maladjust?) to the social restrictions to COVID-19.

Not All as It Seems

To the Editor: I’m responding to Patty Reid’s letter in which she states, “the Lincoln Project is a group of Republicans holding accountable those who would violate their oaths to the Constitution……” It amazes me how often I read letters to the editor where people just regurgitate stuff they hear from the “ same stream media” and take it as gospel without doing any fact checking. I always question everything, so I checked into the Lincoln Project.
