Tyranny

To the Editor:

Opening the electronic version of the FC Record early on Monday mornings is a risk to my blood pressure as well as my attitude depending on the tyranny here at the local level of government. Seems most folks have no problem pointing the finger at the federal level tyrants, perhaps due to the blatancy of the consistent excrement being thrown on us. Well, no need to look up there when it’s in your own front yard.

The front-page headline, “County Leaders Have No Plans to Require Residents to Get the Covid Vaccine” accelerated my heart rate as well as my fingers to the keyboard. For starters, we the people elect public servants, not “leaders.” Children, animals, and the blind (absolutely no offense to blind folks) require leading, not mature adults with a full comprehension of what is supposed to be the role of government, its limited powers and the people’s sovereign authority. Our own Texas Bill of Rights declares that, “All political power is inherent in the people, and all free governments are founded on their authority, and instituted for their benefit.”

Reading on into the article Craig Moreau states, “The general public will not be required to take a coronavirus vaccine, at least for now.” Whoa! Says I. My question to Craig is by what authority would you or some other government servant require the masters, the general public, to be vaccinated? I’d like to witness anything within the Federal or Texas State Bill of Rights, or the Constitution itself that grants authority to require any individual to take any vaccine, regardless of what it is. I anticipate an answer to my question.

We still live in a Constitutional Republic based on the rule of law, not policy dictates or the whims of tyrants from on high or low.
