To the Editor: In response to the letter No Right to Abortion written by Ruth A Fabian — AMEN. Your letter is spot on.

To the Editor: I received my property tax appraisal last week, I was shocked and appalled at the values that the Appraisal District came up with. Fortunately for me, I had met with a realtor the previous week to discuss selling my property and had been given a realistic fair market value of my home.

To the Editor: Governor Abbott, Lieutenant Governor Patrick, Speaker Phelan and Texas GOP Legislators: Not surprisingly, you’ve again rolled out your thoughts and prayers recitation followed by your “now is not the time for politics” mantra. Well, had the victims’families and concerned community members waited for your approval (after the next mass shooting, the one after that, …?) they wouldn’t have rallied all these many months to make their voices heard in the Capitol, where, last Monday, HB 2744 passed by an 8-5 vote in committee, a simple recommendation for inclusion on the House agenda this session.

That Little Voice My need to be a mother was stunted somewhere between the ages of 3 and 15, leaving me baffled by the annual Mother’s Day celebration. I’m not confused by the desire to thank our mothers; I’m just perplexed why anyone would want to be a mother.
