Cooper to Play for Arkansas Tech

“ Over Christmas break they reached out to our coaches ... asked me to come for a visit in January. Fell in love with it and that’s where I decided to go. The campus was really pretty. They have a lot of new facilities ... (Being able to play college football ) is something I’ve been dreaming about since I was a little kid.”

Leps Celebrate Senior Night By Smashing Smithville 84-13

The five seniors on the La Grange basketball team filled the starting lineup for the Leps Friday as they smashed Smithville 84-13 in the home finale. “All five of those guys have bought into what we are selling and leaving a really big legacy,” said La Grange head coach Trent Collier, whose team improved to 23-8 overall and 9-0 in district.

Faith Lutheran Qualifies for TAPPS Playoffs

Faith Lutheran High School Boys basketball team has qualified for the TAPPS (Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools) 1A Playoffs. This was FLHS’ first year as a varsity level program. The Falcons have a record of 11-6 on the season and are coached by Jonathan Kueck. Playoff game location, opponent and time are not yet available, but the game will be Feb. 14 or

Leopard Swim Team Leaves It All in the Pool at Regionals

The La Grange Leopard Swim Team delivered an inspiring performance at the Region 4 Championship Meet, giving it their all and pushing their limits in one of the toughest swimming regions in Texas 4A. Their coach challenged them to dig deep, and they rose to the occasion, proving their dedication and resilience in the pool.

Dela Rosa Sets Collegiate Record

La Grange native Abigail Dela Rosa had a record-setting opening weekend for the St. Mary’s University softball team. Dela Rosa, a junior, tied the St. Mary’s single game record for triples in a game, becoming the eighth Rattler to hit two, doing so in the season-opening 12-7 loss to Southeastern Oklahoma State. She crushed another triple in the second game (an 11-7 win over Colorado School of Mines) and went 7-for-8 at the plate with five runs scored and five RBIs last weekend.
