The La Grange softball team improved to 3-5 this season with a 11-1 victory at San Antonio Cornerstone Christian Tuesday. Brooke Ulrich pitched a complete game two-hitter with six strikeouts.

The La Grange baseball team won its season opener 6-3 Tuesday at West Columbia as Colt Jobb pitched three innings of scoreless ball. Max Dixon hit a double and drove in a run.

Schulenburg girls basketball coach Larry Tidwell, who engineered a big turnaround for the Lady Horns this season has informed the school district that he will resign at the end of this month. He said family matters led to his decision.

Several Flatonia girls are competing at the powerlifting Regional Meet in Edinburgh on Monday. Those qualifiers are Kadence Courville, Allie Uzzell, Nevaeh Willis and NaShawna Willis..

With three weeks to go in the regular season the La Grange boys and girls soccer teams are very much still in the hunt for one of the four playoff spots available in district, but the Leps and Lady Leps still have a lot of work to do to secure those spots. Both teams plays Tuesday at Caldwell.

Kynzee Swafford of La Grange FFA participated in the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo calf scramble on Feb. 9. She was among the 12 out of 24 contestants to catch a calf, halter and move it across the arena to earn a $1,500 certificate toward the purchase of a livestock animal to show at the 2026 San Antonio Livestock Show.

The Flatonia girls basketball season came to an end Friday in the state quarterfinals in a 65-46 loss to San Saba. Flatonia trailed by just one at halftime, but San Saba dominated the second half.

The Fayetteville boys dominated Lasara Friday 100-42 in a second round 1A playoff basketball game in Goliad. Jack Schley scored 25 to lead the Lions.
