Community Support Helps RTC With Baseball Field Improvements

RT-C ISD is continuing improvements to the baseball field along with the help of community support. The improvements began with new fencing being installed, along with the RT-C Booster Club providing fence wrap with graphics. Round Top State Bank and Carmine State Bank both provided a donation of $10,000 for netting to be installed. Softball Round-Up

In a must-win situation in their regular season finale Friday, the La Grange softball team beat Navasota 11-1 to finish the regular season in a tie with Caldwell for the final playoff spot in 22-4A. The Lady Leps will play a tiebreaker Monday at 6 p.m.

Several From LHS Qualify For Regional Track Meet

Several La Grange track athletes punched their tickets to regionals next week in Bullard by placing in the Top 4 in events at the Area track meet Friday in Missouri City. Regional qualifiers from LHS were: Discus – Harper Griffin 1st, Addie Griffin 2nd.

County Reviewing Ag Building Usage

Many local groups use the meeting room at the Fayette County Ag Building – so many, according to Pct. 3 Commissioner Harvey Berckenhoff, that the offices housed in that building often can’t use it for their own purposes.At the April 9 Fayette County Commissioners Court meeting, the Court took up a request from two groups to use the Countyowned space for meetings: Rural Whole Health Coalition and La Grange Taxpayers for Responsible Schools.

Baseball Round-Up

The La Grange baseball team lost to Navasota 2-0 Friday at home as the Leps fell to 11-10 overall and 3-5 in district play. A pair of Navasota pitchers limited the Leps to just five hits Friday, all singles – one each by Dalton Janacek, Tristin Ulrich, Eli Gillum, Jonah Ehler and Baylee Abbey.

Host of Fayette County Golfers Headed to State Tournament

Schulenburg’s Reid Janda and Jayse Janda competed this week at the IV-2A regional golf tournament in Corpus Christi. Reid finished 4th and Jayse finished 15th. Reid now advances to the state golf tournament in Austin on April 27-28. This is the 3rd time in Reid’s career that he has qualified for state. Fayetteville’s Eva Shaw Qualifies for State Fayetteville’s Eva Shaw was the top girls individual State Qualifi er at the Regional Golf Tournament held April 13–14 at ShadowGlen Golf Club in Manor. Shaw posted rounds of 95 and 89, improving on day two to earn the top individual qualifying spot and advance to the state tournament. Baileigh White also competed for Fayetteville, recording scores of 108 and 112 over the two-day event. Shown above is Shaw competing at regionals.
