It was a roller-coaster night for the La Grange basketball teams in Taylor Tuesday. The Lady Leps lost to the Ducks in the first half of the varsity doubleheader, falling 66-45 despite 19 points from freshman Campbell Cooper.

State Football Champs Crowned

Bellville lost in the state title game Friday 28-26 to Gilmer as the Brahmas fell just short of their first ever state football title. The Brahmas had a first half extra point blocked and then a potential game-tying two point conversion stopped in the second half that proved to be the difference.

Local Hoops Action Heats Up Before the Holidays

The La Grange girls basketball team had a strong start to district play Friday as they beat Smithville 53-38, powered by a team-high 17 points from Kylie Trlicek and 13 more from Campbell Cooper. The Lady Leps improved to 10-5 with the win and play at Taylor Tuesday at 6:15 p.m.

Giese Emerges as Leading Scorer for Bulldogs

Flatonia basketball player Kade Giese certainly knows how to put the ball in the basket. Giese has quickly become the leading scorer for a Bulldogs team that has many wins in blowout fashion to start the season.
