Giese Emerges as Leading Scorer for Bulldogs

Flatonia basketball player Kade Giese certainly knows how to put the ball in the basket. Giese has quickly become the leading scorer for a Bulldogs team that has many wins in blowout fashion to start the season.

“Kade’s a great kid,” said Flatonia head boy’s basketball coach Chris Sodek. “He works really, really hard and by the effort he puts in the game, he plays hard. He’s a smart basketball player and he’s a coach’s son. His mom and dad have done a great job raising a very good, polite young man who’s always gonna work his hardest at all times.”

Giese’s early scoring spree has given him the nod for this edition’s Athlete of the Week.

Question: What’s your favorite play in basketball?

Answer: “Probably just inbounds plays because I think I can just pass the ball really good and just make plays for my team.”

Question: What do you think about the NBA In-Season Tournament?

Answer: “I think it was cool for just one game. It’s kind of like a college type or high school type of deal instead of just a series. I think it was really cool.”

Question: Who’s the best basketball player of all time?

Answer: “LeBron James”

Question: Where do you see yourself in 10 years? An-swer: “Coaching somewhere.”

Question: Who would you say is the best ball handler on the team?

Answer: “Keegan Green”

Question: Who’s your favorite Disney character?

Answer: “Mickey Mouse”

Question: Where’s the furthest place you would drive to and why would you go there?

Answer: “Arizona because I just like to see the desert.”

Question: What’s your New Year’s resolution? Answer: “To be a better me”

Answer: “Pie” Question: How has Flatonia shaped you into the person you are now? Answer: “I guess just the community. Just knowing that everyone just comes together and just helps me build who I am.”

Giese’s execution on offense and ability as an allaround player has been a huge piece for Flatonia basketball.
