Leps JV Football

Last week the Leps JV beat Cameron 46-14. Carter Finch was defensive player of the game with three tackles for losses and a forced fumble, fumble recovery and a blocked field. Scott Davis also had an 80 yard scoop and score touchdown. Chris Supak had four rushing touchdowns and threw a touchdown to Brandon Mathis.

Of Note: Both these teams are coming off season-opening victories, but in very different fashions The Leps edged Cameron 52-49 in overtime on a 35-yard field goal by Taylor Cook. The Leps got a big game from senior quarterback Clayton Cooper, who threw for 190 yards and ran for 139. Running back Da’Von Giscome ran for a team-high 186 yards. Columbus, meanwhile blasted Cuero 65-24. The high-octane Cardinals scored 44 by halftime.

Volleyball: Schulenburg Edges RT-C in Four Sets

The Schulenburg volleyball team defeated Round Top-Carmine Tuesday in four sets, 25-22, 25-13, 21-25, 2927. Emmrie Marx had 26 kills for the Lady Horns, Haylee Vacek had 12 and Reagan Dusek had eight. Madison Kunschick had four aces. Dusek and Grace Schramek each had four blocks.

Schulenburg Honors Late Coach, Then Dominates the Indians

The Schulenburg Shorthorns won their first game of the season at home against the Sacred Heart Indians of Hallettsville 35-0. Schulenburg dominated the game defensively, holding the Indians to just 129 yards. Shorthorn Senior quarterback Aaron Janecek threw for 98 yards and ran for 110.

Flatonia’s Huge Third Quarter Sinks Louise

The Flatonia football team rallied from a halftime deficit and used a huge third quarter to blast Louise 33-6 in the season opener for both teams Friday. Flatonia quarterback Beck Zimmerman threw for three touchdowns in that decisive third quarter, two to Kade Geise and one to Keegan Green.
