In the tiebreaker, Kerri Wick won after she predicted a 48-35 Sealy win over La Grange. The actual final score was a 48-38 Sealy win. She just edged Joann Divin and Dan Leer, who predicted 48-34 final scores and Mark Hebert, who predicted a 49-35 final. We will try to get a picture of Kerri accepting her $200 check to run in Friday’s newspaper.

Schulenburg The Schulenburg Lady Horns defeated Holland Thursday 25-7, 25-17, 25-14 in the second round of the 2A playoffs. The Schulenburg volleyball team now advances to face Johnson City Monday Nov.

The Flatonia volleyball team defeated Yorktown 25-9, 25-18, 25-23 in the first round of the 2A playoffs Tuesday in Yoakum. The Lady Bulldogs now advance to face Thorndale Thursday at 8 p.m.

Sophomore Lainey Gromaski is a powerful hitter for the Fayetteville volleyball team which swept North Zulch in the first round of the playoffs Monday. She’s the team leader in kills with 220 and added more to her total Monday.

The Schulenburg volleyball team defeated Kenedy in the first round of the 2A playoffs Monday 25-11, 25-10, 25-11. The Lady Horns improved to 32-11 overall and advance to face Holland in the second round Thursday at 6 p.m.

The La Grange volleyball team’s season came to a heartbreaking end with a five-set loss in the first round of the 2024 playoffs with a 25-18, 25-23, 24-26, 19-25, 11-15 loss to Sealy at Rice Consolidated Monday.
