Four County Volleyball Teams Heading To the Third Round of the Postseason

Schulenburg

The Schulenburg Lady Horns defeated Holland Thursday 25-7, 25-17, 25-14 in the second round of the 2A playoffs.

The Schulenburg volleyball team now advances to face Johnson City Monday Nov. 11 at 6 p.m. in Seguin.

In Thursday’s match Landry Zapalac had 28 assists and six digs for Schulenburg. Emmrie Marx had 18 kill.s Haylee Vacek had seven kill and four digs.

Clara Magliolo had three kills and three block assists.

Grace Schramek and Reagan Dusek each had two kills.

Avery Helms had six aces and nine digs.

Michaela Kollmann had four aces and 13 digs. Madison Kunschick had three aces and eight digs. The Lady Horns are now 33-11.

Flatonia

The Flatonia volleyball team beat Thorndale Thursday 25-14, 25-14, 25-20 in the second round of the 2A playoffs.

The Lady Bulldogs will now face Sonora in the third round of the playoffs. That match will be Tuesday Nov. 12 at 6:30 p.m. at Boerne High School. Here are the stat leaders from Thursday’s Flatonia win: Assists: Summer Sodek - 27, Emma Kosler - 4 , Sarah Ponewash - 2 , Katelin Sullivan - 2 Digs: Elzah Herrera - 14, Emma Kosler - 13, Summer Sodek - 12 Kills: Katelin Sullivan - 12, Allie Uzzell - 6, Katie Templeton - 6, Summer Sodek - 6, Emma Kosler - 6, Greenli VanZandt - 3

Fayetteville

The Fayetteville volley-ball team beat High Island in a 1A second round playoff game Friday. The Lady Lions won 25-14, 25-14, 25-22 to advance to the third round where they will face Richards Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Caldwell in the regional quarterfinals.

The Lady Lions are now 27-11 overall. In Friday’s match, Cambree Denham had 11 kills, Lainey Gromaski had eight, Aubree Graeter have five and Devynn Moeckel and Scotti Beseda each had three.

Emily Keilers had 11 digs, Moeckel and Beseda each had nine, and Gromaski had five.

Beseda had three aces and 32 assists.

RTC

The Round Top-Carmine volleyball team had no trouble winning their first round playoff match Friday, downing Burkeville 25-9, 25-22, 25-9 .

The Cubettes now advance to a Regional Quarterfinal match against Chester on Tuesday, November 12 at Huntsville High School at 7 p.m. Cubettes stat leaders from Friday’s match include: Madison Markwardt 4 kills, 12 digs, 19 assists, 2 aces; Jill Eilers 8 kills, 8 digs, 10 assists, 3 aces; Tess Eilers 7 kills, 12 digs, 2 aces; Bree Dooley 3 kills, 4 digs, 1 ace; Jessica Rohde 5 kills, 2 digs, 2 aces
