Historic Walking Tour Scheduled May 21

The La Grange Main Street program is sponsoring the semi-annual Historic Walking Tour of downtown La Grange on Saturday, May 21. The tour begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Historic Casino Hall on N. Jefferson Street. This is a free event but you must reserve a space. The tour lasts approximately two hours. Call (979) 968-3017 to reserve a space. On Thursday, May 5, St. Rose of Lima Catholic School presented service awards to the following faculty and staff members: 20 years Cindy Carter, Laura Fogle, Sandy Zaruba; 15 years Cynthia Fogleman; 10 years Rachel Guentert, Melissa Schmidt. We thank all teachers and staff for their dedication and service to the essential resource for our future children. Dueling Piano Show to Benefit Round Top Family Library, Historical Society

On Saturday, May 28, there will be a live dueling piano show at The Halles on Hwy 237. 100% of the proceeds from this event will go to The Ride to End Alzheimer’s, The Round Top Family Library, and the Round Top Area Historical Society. Guests will be able to sing and dance along to their favorite hits all evening long. Crown Bar from La Grange will be selling cocktails, and there will also be a food truck and silent auction. $60 ticket includes general admission entry, one free signature cocktail and numerous other freebies! Fayette Community Foundation Gives Grant to Camp Shakespeare

On Tuesday, May 10, the Fayette Community Foundation (FCF) administered a $2,316 designated grant to local nonprofit, Camp Shakespeare at Winedale. Camp Shakespeare is a two-week University of Texas residential summer camp for young people, ages 11-17, dedicated to exploring Shakespeare through performance.
